Number "3" on base of bottle. (Manufactuers used to number their bottle moulds, so that they could be identified and replaced when they were worn or defective). No other identifying marks.

In the 1870s, cognac and brandy was imported from overseas. Popular brands included Jas. Hennessy's 3 Star Brandy at 9/- a bottle, Arbouin Marrett's, and Martell's Brandy at 6/3 a bottle. Flask brandy sold for 4/- a pint. French imports included Lecoq Freres' cognac and A. Yvon & Gaboriau's cognac.
